Personally I’ve tried Netflix for streaming but I’ve noticed that it’s mostly stuff I’ve seen before, with no new releases and TV shows are from way to long ago… So once I started to work for DISH I noticed that the packages were surprisingly affordable, there’s even the option to add the Blockbuster@Home for additional streaming and DVD’s by mail. When you cut cords, you also limit yourself to the content that’s available online with no live sports...

Re: Xcode from Snow Leopard to Lion

Thanks for the update Harry. Did installing iTunes on top of your existing iTunes app work or did you find a way to delete it?

Re: Xcode from Snow Leopard to Lion

I have started getting many many spurios crashes and other errors from Xcode. tried to reinstall and got this exact error. Oddly, i had to quit iTunes during the install. So reinstalling itunes seems very plausealbe, except now with OS-X 10.7.3 I see no way to do it. Can't even put iTunes in the trash!!! suggestions? (already did all the usual normal install apple updates etc.

Update: found the stand alone itunes install on apple site and downloaded / reinstalled.

Re: Xcode from Snow Leopard to Lion

I downloaded Xcode from AppStore, which told me it was 'installed' after the mega download. But in fact, I needed to look in 'Applications' in Finder, then run 'Install Xcode' as well. Not very intuitive - but there you go!

Re: Xcode from Snow Leopard to Lion

Ian Macartney - much thanks for the suggestion! Re-installing iTunes resolved my problem too!

Re: Xcode from Snow Leopard to Lion

re-install iTunes. sounds crazy, i know, but it worked for me and many others.

Re: SpiderMonkey, jsawk & resty on Snow Leopard

Thanks, Homebrew looks awesome! I wasn't happy that MacPorts clobbered by .bashrc file.

Re: SpiderMonkey, jsawk & resty on Snow Leopard

Thanks! That's a cool suggestion. In this case, I saved geocoded locations to a file for later processing, but I'll keep your tip in mind for other situations.

Re: SpiderMonkey, jsawk & resty on Snow Leopard

I'd recommend using homebrew (http://github.com/mxcl/homebre... as your Mac package manager as it doesn't clobber your system libraries and is generally more intelligent than MacPorts. Also, spidermonkey, jsawk, and resty are all manageable via Homebrew.

Re: SpiderMonkey, jsawk & resty on Snow Leopard

Hi, nice post! If you like the vi editor you might be into something like

GET /the/path | jsawk 'do_something()' | PUT -V

It opens a vi editor with the result of the GET so you can edit it, and when you save it uses that as the data for the PUT.

Cheers!
